Kalamazoo is home to Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Davenport University, Cornerstone University and University of Phoenix.
Schools - Primary, Public or Private
Nine public school districts in Kalamazoo County offer excellent academic programs and a wide variety of extracurricular activities. In addition to the 89 public schools in Kalamazoo County, there are 19 private schools in the area, including Christian parental and Catholic parochial schools that provide K-12 education, and four charter elementary schools.
The Kalamazoo Promise
The Kalamazoo Promise is a scholarship offered to every Kalamazoo Public School student. The qualifications for this scholarship are extremely simple and the scholarship itself is even more generous.
